Our class can purchase awesome books from Scholastic Book Clubs! September Book Clubs orders are due by 09/30/17. You can place your orders online at scholastic.com/bookclubs using my class activation code: HGNTQ. A paper flyer is forthcoming.

Please sign form and send in to school.

Cost: $7.00

Students are encouraged to bring a bag lunch.

If you are unable to bring in a bag lunch, please send a note to Ms. Frazier.

MAP Testing has begun! 

Students will be tested in Reading and Math. Please encourage your child to do their best on the test and to show what they know!

Boy Scouts Informational Meeting for Parents is this Thursday, August 24th@ 6 PM in the Hesse Cafeteria.

Solar Eclipse Fun!

What a galactic week in 3rd Grade! From being geologists to being astronomers, our class has been learning the magic and knowledge of all things rocks and space!!! Today was our Solar Eclipse Celebration where we indulged in research, discussion, exploration, and space themed treats! What an amazing day in 3rd grade!

Adventures in Geology!

We are ROCKIN' in 3rd grade! Our rocks and minerals unit started this week, and we are learning so many interesting facts about rocks. As geologists, we are working to observe, analyze, and characterize rocks. We are learning a ton and having fun along the way! #STEAM

Literacy Stations! Yahoo!

We are rolling with our Daily 5 Literacy Stations in Room 1220! Our hard work and practice is laying the ground work for effective reading practices. We are excited to work in collaborative and independent groups to meet our learning goals. 

Asking and Answering Questions

We have been learning about how asking and answering questions helps us to become better readers by improving our comprehension. Today we practiced independent reading and worked to answer fun questions about the story Sheila Rae the Brave by Kevin Henkes. We are strong readers! We will read so that one day we can lead!

Dawgtastic Fun in the Sun!

The 3rd Day of 3rd Grade was INCREDIBLE! We enjoyed some fun physical activities outside in the recreation area! From football to jump rope, we had a ball! Hooray for 3rd grade!

Back to School Cool!

Our first day of school was amazing! We learned and practiced our classroom and school expectations and worked to get comfortable with our new academic goals. Our class is a great team of learners! We are building great relationships and learning so much along the way. Make sure to ask your student about their first day of 3rd grade! They are sure to discuss the incredible adventures of our first day together! Go Dawgs!

Open House 2017-2018!

Our class had an excellent turnout for Open House 2017-2018! Our school year is off to a great start! Thanks for all who attended and who made the night very organized and special! This school year will be the best!
